Who We are and What We Believe |
||
The faculty of UCSD School of Medicine uses dog vivisection to teach basic physiology and pharmacology to first-year medical students. Doctorsagainstdoglabs.com represents physicians who oppose this practice. We oppose it on moral and ethical grounds, and believe there are other effective ways to teach basic physiology and pharmacology. We make the important distinction between using vivisection for purely demonstration purposes and using animals for medical and scientific research. None of the arguments put forth for the use of animals for medical research apply to -- much less justify -- the use of vivisection for demonstration purposes.
